We live in a society that has a tendency to base our worth on things that can go as easily as they came (money, positions, relationships, cars, etc.) — things that have the potential to depreciate based on the times. When we begin to associate our worth with the things of this world (a price tag), we allow man to dictate how we should be valued. Moreover, we: 1. Limit our potential (who we are able to become) , 2. Place boundaries around our abilities (what we are able to do), and 3. Undermine our Creator, thus removing power from our purpose.
When you experience a hardship, does your worth vanish alongside your coins? NO. If your relationship ended, does your identity walk away from you, as well? NO. If you were placed in the lowest position at the firm, does this mean your eternal value is at the same level? NO. There will always be someone “better off” or in a higher position than you, but that does not make you any less valuable.
Jesus thought YOU were worth dying for. That fact alone makes YOU a pretty HUGE deal. Your worth (His love for you) does not change based on your circumstances, your income, your haves and have-nots. You are valuable beyond measure. Your capabilities are without bounds when you define yourself by His standard. When you begin to see yourself the way that God see’s you, you’ll finally understand why this world could never afford you. You’ll get why you are an asset and not a liability. You’ll understand why it is of the utmost importance that you walk in your purpose (because there are lives waiting to be changed by yours).
Allow the price tag that the world has placed on you to disintegrate, while Christ restores the crown that you were called to wear.
