A few of my favorite indulgences: Trolli’s (sour gummy worms), White Chip Macadamia Nut Cookies, and Haribo Golden Bears (the best gummy bears everrr). While these are some of my favorite treats that bring joy to my tastebuds, I always find myself weighing the cost before succumbing to my momentary sweet tooth.
I make an intentional effort to consider the cost because I know sometime in the future (whether it is near or far) I will have to deal with the consequences for my present decisions. Every choice we make has a price and life is made up of payments for the decisions we decided to make. Most times we end up paying the bill, but there are other times when an unsuspecting customer ends up picking up our bill. Refuse to be that person that burdens someone else with the debt of your unwise decision. But most importantly, refrain from being that swipe-happy person that charges through life with little awareness of their upcoming bill. Life will hit like a ton of bricks when your payment is due if your decisions were unplanned for, unsupported, and lacking direction, preparation and foresight.
We have to pay for both the “good” and the “no-so-good” choices we make, so it would be very wise for us to begin investing ourselves in things that are actually WORTH the expenditure of our time, money, efforts, energy, and spirit. That bag of Trolli’s that I mentioned earlier are 300 calories… Do you know how long it takes me to burn 300 calories on the elliptical?! Yeah.. When I consider that cost (and high-intensity workout)… it is NOT worth it.
Plan for your moments of indulgence so that you can still be content with your decision even after your re-payment notice arrives.✨
